Bhutan’s landscape, buildings and people are some of the most photogenic in the world. While photographic local people, it is always better to take permission first. There are certain places such as monasteries and temples, where photography is prohibited however there is no restriction on photographing Dzongs and Goembas from outside.

If you are uncertain about whether or not photography is permitted, please check with your local guide. You should refrain from taking pictures of military installations.

Things you should know

The Daily USD 200 Sustainable Development (SDF) Fee.

Foreign visitors to Bhutan must pay a daily sustainable fee of USD 200. The new fees went into effect on June 20, 2022.

The Minimum Daily Package Rate (MDPR) has been removed.

Tourists will be able to engage service providers directly and pay for their services accordingly.

Which season to visit?

The best time to visit the country is during the Spring and Autumn seasons. There are many festivals and sights to see during these times of the year.

How to get here?

There is one international airport in the country. Regular flights are conducted by the two airlines; Druk Air and Bhutan Airlines. Contact us for more information on availability of flights to our country.
